Description

A guilt-free twist on the Filipino classic, Turon,made with naturally sweet saba bananas and antioxidant-rich dark chocolate. This baked version uses coconut wraps for a low-glycemic, PCOSfriendly dessert that’s hormone-balancing,satisfying, and timeless

Ingredients

  • 4 saba bananas (ripe but firm, halved lengthwise)
  • 4 coconut wraps (or low-glycemic lumpia wrappers)
  • 40g 85% dark chocolate (cut into small pieces or chips)
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar (optional, for light caramelization)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (for brushing)
  • drizzle of coconut cream, toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Directions

    Prepare the Ingredients: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

    Halve the saba bananas lengthwise and set them aside.

    Place a coconut wrap on a flat surface. Lay a piece of saba banana on one side of the wrap.

    Add a few pieces of dark chocolate on top of the banana.

    Sprinkle lightly with coconut sugar if desired for a caramelized finish

    Roll the wrap tightly around the banana and chocolate, folding the edges in to seal.

    Bake the Turon: Arrange the rolled turon on the prepared baking tray.

    Brush each turon lightly with melted coconut oil to ensure a crisp, golden exterior.

    Bake for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway, until the wraps are lightly browned and crisp.

    Garnish and Serve: Let the baked turon cool for a few minutes.

    Drizzle with coconut cream and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
