  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) olive oil
  • ½ piece (40g) onion, chopped
  • 1 piece (80g) green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon green onions, chopped

Directions

  1. 1
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat.
  2. 2
Add the lean ground beef to the skillet and cook until thoroughly browned, breaking it apart into fine pieces with a wooden spoon or spatula.
  3. 3
Stir in the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic, sautéing the mixture until the vegetables are tender and fragrant.
  4. 4
Season the mixture evenly with the Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper, tossing well to ensure the beef and vegetables are completely coated.
  5. 5
Toss the cooked brown rice directly into the skillet with ground beef, mixing thoroughly until it is heated through, or serve the savory beef mixture on top of freshly cooked rice.
